Description

If you'll be aviating VFR in the vicinity of St. Louis, make sure you have a current copy of the FAA's full-color, info-rich St. Louis Terminal Area Chart (TAC) on hand throughout your flight ops in the area. While Sectional Charts certainly make sense for enroute navigation, TACs have a definite advantage for flights in congested, Class B airspace. TACs utilize a large (1:250,000; 3.43 nm per inch [1.35 nm per cm]) scale that allows them to depict additional landmarks, important altitudes, radio frequencies, and other noteworthy aeronautical data that's not feasible to include on sectionals. Additionally, the St. Louis TAC features a VFR Flyway Planning Chart on the reverse side, which presents flight paths and altitudes to help low, slow aviators steer clear of larger, faster aircraft.

The St. Louis TAC presents a detailed depiction of the Class Bravo airspace centered around the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport (STL). As is characteristic of all TAC publications, this chart is updated on a 6-month cycle. A low-cost, easy-to-use tool for greater situational awareness and operational efficiency during flights around the Gateway to the West.
